This Opinion Survey Manager system was initially created to gather and digest opinions from the attendees of CTEK Making Business Happen events in 2003. It was later set up to handle a member opinion survey for our Church and also a resident opinion survey for our Home Owner's Association. After discussing the needs of Volunteer Connection, I incorporated the capability to merge data collected at more than one data entry location through the Import and Export options. The Survey Manager uses Microsoft Access. I have extended its capabilities to also work with Microsoft SQL Server. Since many prospective customers may not have MS Access installed, I have added the ability to generate its reports for viewing and printing from web browsers (Internet Explorer, Mozilla and Firefox). Survey Manager can cope with many response formats (e.g.: Yes/No, Multi-Choice, Scale-1-5, Integer Value, Short Text and Long Text) While it can work well with essay responses, it is most suited for evaluating the statistics of Multi-Choice, Yes/No, Scaled responses and Integer values. I have eliminated the restriction in length of the survey form. The Opinion Questionnaire can be designed within the Opinion Survey Manager. The blank opinion survey form is one of the reports that can be printed. Contact information for the surveyed person can be recorded and is isolated from the reports. The exception is the one report of the completed survey forms. For a single Opinion Survey, variations for different Respondent Types can be dealt with (e.g.: Company, Employee, Panelist).
