How to Copy PROG effexts to the 01 Sequencer

You can copy the effects page (Page 8) from any PROG, COMBI or Song to the effects page (Page 8) of the sequencer while in SEQ Mode.
  1. Enter SEQ Mode (push "SEQ").
  2. Go to Page 9 (push "9").
  3. Highlight "Copy Effects All" (push DOWN 3 times or UP once).
  4. Highlight the field to the right of "from" (push "C").
  5. Select the source of the effects you want to copy (push VALUE DOWN, UP, or the slider). For this specific example, select "PROGRAM".
  6. Push the "E" button to highlight the PROG number field.
  7. Enter the bank/number of the program whose effects you want to copy. The easiest way is by direct-entry: Hold "E" down as you push the number of the PROG you want. To change banks, push and release "10's HOLD/-". Then release "E".
  8. Select COPY (push "H").

  9. Confirm you want to copy (push "E"). (98Apr13)

Base Resolution (Line 3, column E-H)
Base Resolution : Low (Q/48) or High (Q/96) [SET]
A B C D E F G H

Base Resolution is how many ticks-per-quarter-note the 01 will record at. The faster you go, the better the reproduction of human nuances. But higher tick speeds mean less time for other things, things being options like additional time signatures.

You can only set the Base Resolution if the current Song (specified on Page 0, line 5, column A) is empty. Once a song is recorded, the Base Resolution cannot be changed unless the entire song is erased (using Page 5, line 3, column E-H). Base Resolution can be different for each song.

You get two choices: Low or High. The Bass Resolution setting determines two things: the time signatures you have to choose from, and how quantization is done.

Time Signature Aspect

The time signatures available with each choice are shown in the table below. The trade-off is that High resolution sounds more natural, but you get fewer time signatures to choose from.

Base Resolution Options
Base Resolution Available Time Signatures
Low (48 ticks per quarter-note) 1/4 - 9/4
1/8 - 16/8
1/16 - 16/16
High (96 ticks per quarter-note) 1/4 - 5/4
1/8 - 10/8
1/16 - 16/16

Quantization Aspect

You can specify an amount of quantization on Page 0-1 and Page 6-1. One of the options is "HI". If you select the "HI" option, then the amount of quantization is whatever you set here (on Page 9).

Now, follow along: You can set the Quantization to be "HI" while the Base Resolution is "Low". Or you can set Quantization to be "HI" and the Base Resolution is "High". "HI" doesn't necessarily mean "High", got it?
