Songwriter Tim Davis played his original songs for many years with the local acoustic quartet Downwind. According to the Estes Park Trail Gazette, "Davis' soulful lyrics weave stories of joy, of pain, of relationships gone bad and of friendships that endure." From folk beginnings, the stylistic scope of Davis' songs has broadened exponentially.

From the atomic city of Los Alamos, New Mexico, Patty Machen is a veteran of the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra and Downwind and has learned to take the sound of the fiddle "into the ditch". She has added the growl of rock and the sultry punch of funk to her previous range of classical refinement and bluegrass melody.

During the 1990's, Marty Humphreys played in Downwind with Tim and Patty, recorded with Bigfoot and the Prehistoric Dogs, and performed with the Danny Shafer Band. He plays guitar, lapslide, mandolin and cornet in the band.

Peter Stokes is a performer who tours around the US and Canada. His bizarre guitar style and high energy level set him somewhat apart in the realm of acoustic music. He has also played bass with numerous local and national acts over the past 25 years, and currently does that for Savage Patty. (to visit his website, click on his photo)

Kevin Babcock is the newest addition to the band. He's a co-founder of the Sugarloaf String Band, and has played his 5 string cheese cutter on the stage of the Boulder Theatre, the Fox Theatre, the Rocky Grass Main Stage and other local venues. He hates broccoli. (click on his photo to visit the Sugarloaf String Band)
