The Period after Sgt. Pepper contains songs that appeared on a mix of singles, LPs, and a double-EP.
There was no Magical Mystery Tour LP put out by the Beatles. They released a double-EP called Magical Mystery Tour to go with their made-for-TV movie of the same name. This double-EP had six songs, too few for an LP, so Capitol Records in the US took those six and put them on side one of an LP. Side two contained five songs released on singles in 1967 ('I Am The Walrus' was on both the double-EP and B-side of a single). Eventually this LP was released by EMI in the UK, and it later became a CD.
While recording songs for Magical Mystery Tour, the Beatles also recorded songs for the movie Yellow Submarine. Four of these wound up on that soundtrack album. Two other songs went unreleased until later, one on a single, the other on the Let It Be album.

The book starts with an overview of the Beatle Periods, showing where Magical Mystery Tour fits in their career. It then shows chronological lists of songs recorded and released during this Period.
The "Releases" section shows records that were released containing songs recorded this Period. Details are provided about the UK records. (Details about the US records are in The Songs section.)
A "Hearing The Music" section gives some orientation and history about the vinyl records and how they were intended to be heard.
