Kit definitions ROM Kit A1 definition

Kit Definition

Drum Kits are defined in GLOBAL Mode. Page 1 shows Kit A1 or B1, depending on what Bank was selected before you pushed GLOBAL. Likewise, Page 2 shows Kit A2 or B2. To see a Kit definition:

1. Press BANK to select the Bank of the Kit you want to see (A or B).
2. Press GLOBAL
3. Press "1" to see A1 or B1, press "2" to see B1 or B2.

You will see 6 lines of a 60-line Kit definition. Below are brief descriptions of each column.
(Details and examples appear in the Percussion Manual on pages 47-58.)

Index
Index is a number from 0 through 59. You can assign a maximum of 60 Sounds.

DS# (Drum Sound number)
Called "Instrument" in the 01 Owner's manual. The Sound Number of the Drum Sound you want (see the Drum Sound table in your manual or on pages 18-21 or pages 44-46 in the Percussion Manual.)

DS Name (Drum Sound Name)
This is the name of the Sound you selected in the DS# column. This is displayed in the 01 display in the top-right corner.

Key (called "Instrument Key" in the Owner's Manual)
Which keyboard key (MIDI note number) you want the Sound to be on.

Pitch (called "Instrument Tune" in the Owner's Manual)
This parameter detunes the Drum Sound higher or lower than the original Sound.

Level
Sound Level or Volume of this Sound within the definition table.

Decay
How long it will take for the Sound to die out.

Pan
Let's you pan this Sound between A and B, or to C, D, C+D, or ALL.

EX Group (Exclusive Group, or Exclusive Assign)
All Sounds that have the same EX Group number will cut off any other Sound with the same Grouop number. This is commonly used with the Hi-Hat, like to stop the sound of a Close Hi-hat when you next hit the Tite Hi-Hat.

ROM Drum Kit A1 Definition

Here's an example of a Kit definition. Display Drum Kit A1 by:

1. Press BANK to select Bank A
2. Press GLOBAL
3. Press "1"

You will see 6 lines of a 60-line Kit definition. The table below shows all 60 lines so you don't have to "scroll and peek".
