OSC Mode : (SINGLE/DOUBLE/DRUMS)
Assign (POLY, MONO)
MONO: You can play only one note at a time.
POLY: You can play more than one note at a time.
Hold (ON/OFF)
Sets if the note will continue to be heard after the key is released.
OFF: Sound will stop when key is released. OFF is the usual setting.
ON: Sound will continue after key is released (useful for Drum Kits).
Multisound 1 or Drum Kit
(0 - 254 or 255, C00-)
Select the Multisound or Drum Kit you want to use. Choose from the
list of Multisounds, or one of the four Drum
Kits (A1, A2, B1, B2). Note you must select select a Drum Kit from the
same Bank your Program is in. For example, if you want to use Kit B1 or
B2, you must build your Program in Bank B.
Multisound 2 (0 - 254 or 255, C00-)
This option appears only when you have selected an OSC Mode of DOUBLE.
Volume Level (00 - 99)
Sets how loud this Multisound is. NOTE: Some Multisounds will sound
distorted at high volume levels. If that happens, well, turn it down (use
a lower Level setting).
Octave (4', 8', 16', 32')
Sets the octave of the Multisound. 8' is normal. 4' is down one octave,
16' is up one octave, 32' is up two octaves.
Pitch EG Amount (-99 thru +99)
Sets how much Line 6 (on this Page) will affect this Multisound.
Pan (A, 9:1 thru 9:1, B, C, C+D, D, ALL)
Selects the inputs to the Effects section. Be aware that all settings
will route some sound to outputs 1/L and 2/R, so don't be surprised if
you see C, C+D, or D and you still hear something.
NOTE: Drum Kits are not panned here, so this option will not appear
when you select a Drum Kit. Kits are panned one instrument at a time in
Global Mode Page 1 or 2.
Line 5 sets relationships between OSC 1 and OSC 2. This line only appears
when OSC Mode is DOUBLE.

Emphasis Intensity (values range from
0 thru +99)
(text is based on the Percussion
Manual p.68)
Emphasis makes the sound stand out. Higher values increase the emphasis.
Velocity Sensitivity (-99
through +99)
-99 thru +00: Decrease Emphasis
+00 thru +99: Increase Emphasis
Velocity Sensitivity controls how key velocity will change the amount
of emphasis. Higher values of Sensitivity means varying your playing dynamics
has a greater effect on Emphasis.
Wave Shaping
(text is based on the Percussion
Manual p.68)
Wave Shaping changes the waveform by adding distortion, resonance,
and other qualities. It does this by using a Wave
Table to look up what qualities to apply.
If you do not want to use Wave Shaping, set to OFF.

Aftertouch Pitch Bend (-12 half-steps
through +12 half-steps = -1 octave through +1 octave)
You can also use aftertouch to bend notes. Unlike the joystick, which
bends both up and down, aftertouch can only bend up (positive values) or
down (negative values). However, aftertouch bends are added to joystick
bends, which makes possible a 3-octave bend!
How to Bend 3 Octaves
1. Set Joystick Bend to +12.
2. Set Aftertouch Bend to +12.
3. Move the joystick full left before hitting a note.
4. Press and hold any key.
Octave 1: Joystick centered.
Octave 2: Joystick full right.
Octave 3: Joystick full right and full pressure
on key.
How To Bend 4 Octaves (kinda-sorta)
1. Set up to bend 3 octaves.
2. Add a PMG waveform (triangle is good), set Freq=2, I=99.
You can't really control the 4th octave since the waveform is doing
that, but you will reach that 4th octave!
MIDI Control of Pitch Bend
Pitch Bend can be controlled by MIDI with the Pitch Bend message (1110cccc
= EcH), where c = the MIDI channel number. 14 bits of data specify the
amount of bend. Note that Pitch Bend is a MIDI channel Voice message, not
a controller message.
Amount of Bend | Binary Value | MIDI Format (LSByte, MSByte) |
---|---|---|
Full negative | 00 0000 0000 0000 | Ec 00 00 |
No (zero) bend | 10 0000 0000 0000 | Ec 00 40 |

Write Program
Writes the current (probably edited) Program into internal memory or
to a RAM card.
Rename Program
Lets you change the name of the currently selected Program. You'll
probably want to change the name from the factory preset name if you edited
the Prog.
Copy Effects All
Lets you copy the effects settings from any Prog, Combi, or Song into
the currently selected Program. That is, it copies the Page 8 settings
from any Prog, Combi, or Song into Page 8 of the current Prog.
Copy/Swap FX
This operates on FX1 and/or FX2 on Page 8 of the currently selected
Program. It will copy or exchange all the settings of FX1 and/or FX2.
Copy/Swap OSC
This operates on OSC1 and/or OSC2 of the currently selected Program.
It will copy or exchange the following settings of OSC1 and/or OSC2: OSC,
Emphasis, WS, VDF, VDA, Pitch MG, VDF MG Destination. Settings NOT copied
are Multisound and Octave.
